What to bring to a photo shoot…… written by Heather Boilek Article in OTS E-Magazine pages 8-9-10-11
First and foremost, do your research. Make sure you know the details of the shoot and if it’s a theme you should coordinate your attire along the lines of that theme or concept. No, you do not have to go out and buy new clothes to wear to these photo shoots. With that said simply go through you own closet, you will be surprised at how many creative outfits you can piece together with the resources you already own.
You want to have 5 maximum outfits to wear throughout the shoot. It’s better to bring too much to wear rather than not enough. Try them on before you bring them.
After you researched your theme or concept you need to get in tuned with your star player. Also known as, YOU. Look in the mirror at yourself and study your features, skin, and body. Make sure you take care of yourself inside and out.
Look at your nails both fingers and toes. You don’t have to run out and spend money on a mani-pedi. You’re a woman and I am sure you own plenty of nail polish. Simply pick something neutral and get to painting, it won’t cost you a dime.
Eyebrows can be high maintenance, but if you don’t clean them up they can seriously break down a head shot. I can emphasize how important it is to take care of your skin.
Drink plenty of water daily and get a full night sleep prior to shoots can make benefit your mood and skin. It’s also important to shower the night before and make sure your legs and underarms are cleanly shaven.
Also, if you usually shave your arms make sure you don’t forget to shave those as well. If you normally shower in the morning you can just make sure not to wash your hair.
Day old hair is the best for keeping curls last the whole shoot. Now that your body is taken care of you can begin packing for your shoot.
