Interview with New Model Candace Brett

OTS is talking to Candace Brett OTS 27328 this month 12-2009, one of our newest and most promising members.  Just how long have you been with us?

Candace; Only a month, since the MMM2 workshop, actually.

OTS You did some great work there!  We were so glad you came; how did you find out about it?

Candace; My mom came across it just browsing the internet!  I am so blessed, none of this would even be happening without her!  I like to call her my Mommy Manager.

OTS Blessed, indeed!  I don’t know what I would have done without my Momma either.  So have you always been interested in modeling?

Candace; Definitely!  When I was just a sassy little thing, I loved to play dress-up, put on crazy makeup and put on runway shows for whoever would watch me!

OTS I bet your Mom loved that!  Now that you’re all grown up, what would your ultimate modeling experience be?

Candace; My ultimate goal has been to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel since I was probably 15.  Nothing could compare to wearing huge extravagant angel wings and walking with all of those beautiful role models of mine in the annual VS Fashion Show.

OTS I hear you wouldn’t mind designing for a fashion show, either.  How did you become interested in fashion design?

Candace; I have always had my own unique style and I love getting creative with clothes!  I started wearing my creations to photoshoots, and was getting amazing compliments.  So I took every amazing thing said about my clothes, added in some sequins and bows and I think I’ve been in my house ever since!

OTS What do you look to for inspiration?

Candace; Most of the time, ideas just pop into my head.  I have a notebook with me at all times because when I have one good idea, there are usually ten more following it.  If I do need some inspiring I watch Betsey Johnson fashion shows on Youtube.

OTS I love Betsey Johnson!  She definitely has a unique perspective.  What would you consider to be your ‘style’?

Candace; My style is all over the place.  I have cute-girly, sexy-chic, and vintage looks too!  All of my designs are just very fun and crazy.

OTS I know we all loved what we saw on you in your last shoot at MMM2.  Model, designer – it’s clear you’re a woman with many talents.  Any other aspirations?

Candace; I have so many!! I pretty much want to do everything.  Modeling, Acting, Designing, Photography, Make-up Artistry, Singing and Dancing. It's an endless list that keeps me very busy, but I love it all!

OTS I have a feeling if you put your mind to it, you could do them all at once!  So I have to ask.  If you had to choose between being the model or the designer, which would it be?

Candace; I think I would have to pick modeling.  There’s nothing like being all dolled up and showing off on the runway!

OTS I know just what you mean, it’s an incredible feeling.  It has been great talking with you, Candace.  Thanks for taking the time to let us get to know you a little better, and we are looking forward to seeing more of you and your creations in the future!
