This is too cool! I thought this was your mother's portfolio. I think it is great that you are interested in photogrpahy. It looks like you are off to a good start. I can't be much of a critic on the non-portrait work as I feel lile I just don't have an eye for it, but the portrait is great. It is composed very well. It seems to be a bit dark. Probably because the sun is behind that object that is casting a shadow on her. I can tell a flash was not used. In situations like that I try to back off a bit, shade my lense from the sun, and use a flash. I can always zoom in and or crop it later for the same up-close effect. I can tell when you come over for the TFP we wil have much to talk about!
